What is Anti-Ban Delay?
An anti-ban delay is a deliberate, randomised pause inserted between outgoing messages when sending WhatsApp campaigns from a regular number. WhatsApp's systems flag accounts that fire hundreds of identical messages per minute as spam bots and ban them, sometimes permanently. A good sender waits a random 20 to 60 seconds between messages, varies the text slightly, and caps daily volume so the pattern looks human.
For Indian SMEs running campaigns on their main business number, this matters enormously — a banned number means losing years of customer chats and a printed-on-every-bill contact. Sensible practice is warming a new number up slowly, keeping under 200 to 300 messages a day initially, messaging only people who know you, and using message variations. The official API avoids bans entirely but costs per conversation.
