What is wa.me Link (Click-to-Chat)?
A wa.me link is WhatsApp's official click-to-chat URL. The format is wa.me followed by the phone number with country code — for example wa.me/919876543210 — and anyone tapping it lands directly in a chat with that number, without saving the contact first. You can append pre-filled text, so the customer's message box already reads something like "Hi, I want the price list".
Indian businesses put wa.me links everywhere: Instagram bios, Google Business Profiles, website chat buttons, QR codes on visiting cards and shop banners. The pre-filled text trick doubles as tracking — a link from a Facebook ad can pre-fill "FB50 offer" so you know exactly which ad produced the enquiry.
