Overview

What is Krishna WiFi?

Every local ISP and cable operator in India knows the routine: a router needs reconfiguring, so someone opens WinBox, connects over an unstable link, changes settings from memory, and prays nothing breaks — because one wrong firewall rule can knock a whole colony offline and trigger an evening of angry phone calls. Krishna WiFi replaces that ritual with a disciplined, multi-tenant web panel. Every MikroTik router on your network is configured and managed remotely over its public static IP using the official RouterOS API, from a browser, by staff who never need to open WinBox at all. Onboarding, configuration, roles and isolation are all handled by the panel — with guardrails a tired technician at 11 PM cannot accidentally bypass.

The centrepiece is a five-step router onboarding wizard that begins with a simple four-field connect form — IP, username, password and API port, plain or SSL. Before any configuration is allowed, the wizard runs a 13-point hard-gate validation: TCP reachability, API login, RouterOS version, licence level, write permission, free RAM and disk, WAN default route, internet ping, interface count, an existing-configuration warning, a duplicate-router check and serial/model discovery — each explained in bilingual ગુજરાતી/English messages your field staff actually understand. The wizard cannot be skipped until every check passes. Then interface role mapping and auto-suggested, editable network settings lead to one-click auto-configuration that always takes a backup first, streams every step to a live terminal, and automatically restores that backup if anything fails. The router can never be left half-configured.

Krishna WiFi is built for organisations, not just individual routers. Four roles — super-admin, city-admin, reseller and operator — give everyone exactly the access they need, while hard per-city tenant isolation guarantees the Jamnagar team can never even see Dwarka's routers. Router API passwords are encrypted at rest with AES-256, installation uses a friendly web installer with no SQL import, and updates arrive with one click from GitHub. The roadmap goes further still: FreeRADIUS AAA, a captive portal designer, WhatsApp OTP login, payments and invoicing, reseller wallets, a monitoring dashboard and port forwarding are all planned, making Krishna WiFi a foundation for full MikroTik ISP management software in India — not just a configuration tool.

Features

Everything Krishna WiFi does for you

Five-Step Onboarding Wizard

A guided wizard takes a router from a four-field connect form (IP, username, password, API port — plain or SSL) to fully configured. Even a junior operator can onboard routers correctly, because the wizard enforces the right order every time.

13-Point Hard-Gate Validation

Thirteen checks — TCP reachability, API login, RouterOS version, licence level, write permission, free RAM and disk, WAN default route, internet ping, interface count, existing-config warning, duplicate-router check and serial/model discovery — must all pass before configuration unlocks. Misconfigurations are stopped before they exist, with bilingual Gujarati/English explanations.

Interface Role Mapping

Visually assign each physical interface its role — WAN, LAN, hotspot or management — before anything is written to the router. The panel always knows what each port is for, which prevents the classic cabling-versus-config mix-ups.

Auto-Suggested Network Settings

The panel proposes sensible IP ranges, DHCP pools and network settings based on what it discovered, all fully editable before applying. Experienced admins keep control, while newer staff get a safe, correct starting point.

One-Click Auto-Configuration with Rollback

Configuration always backs up the router first, streams each step live to a terminal view, and automatically restores the backup on any failure. You watch exactly what is happening, and a failed run can never strand a router half-configured.

Four Access Roles

Super-admin, city-admin, reseller and operator roles give every person exactly the permissions their job needs and nothing more. Owners delegate daily work with confidence, knowing an operator cannot touch billing-level or cross-city settings.

Hard Per-City Tenant Isolation

Each city operates as a fully isolated tenant — its routers, users and data are invisible to every other city. You can grow into a multi-city broadband operation on one panel without any risk of cross-tenant leaks.

AES-256 Encrypted Credentials

Router API passwords are encrypted at rest with AES-256, never stored in plain text. Even if a database backup leaks, your routers' credentials stay protected — critical when those routers carry an entire town's internet.

Web Installer & One-Click GitHub Updates

Install on your own server through a friendly web installer with no manual SQL import, and pull updates from GitHub with one click. You stay current with new features and fixes without ever needing a developer on call.

How it works

From sign-up to results in four steps

  1. Add a Router

Enter just four fields — public static IP, username, password and API port (plain or SSL) — and the panel connects over the RouterOS API.

  2. Pass the 13-Point Validation

The hard-gate wizard verifies reachability, login, version, licence, resources, routes and more — with bilingual messages — before configuration can begin.

  3. Map Interfaces & Review Settings

Assign each interface its role, then review and edit the auto-suggested network settings so the plan matches your ground reality.

  4. One-Click Auto-Configure

The panel backs up the router, applies every step while streaming a live terminal, and auto-restores the backup if anything fails.

Who it's for

Made for businesses like yours

Local ISPs

Onboard and manage your whole MikroTik fleet from one panel, and let operators handle routine work without WinBox access or root passwords.

Moving from cable TV into broadband? The wizard's hard-gated checks let non-network-experts configure routers correctly and safely.

WiFi Resellers

Get a dedicated reseller role with access to exactly your own routers and customers, inside your upstream operator's panel.

Hotel & Hostel Networks

Manage guest WiFi routers across properties remotely, with backups and rollback ensuring a config change never takes a property offline.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I really never need WinBox?

For everything the panel covers — onboarding, validation, interface mapping, network settings and auto-configuration — yes, WinBox stays closed. The panel talks to each router over the official RouterOS API on its public static IP, so all routine work happens in the browser, from anywhere. Advanced engineers can still use WinBox for exotic edge cases if they wish, but day-to-day operations no longer depend on one expert with one laptop and one saved session list.

What happens if auto-configuration fails halfway?

Nothing bad — and that is by design. Before applying a single change, the panel always takes a full backup of the router. Every configuration step then streams to a live terminal so you can watch it happen. If any step fails, the panel automatically restores the backup, returning the router to exactly the state it was in before you started. A router can never be left half-configured, which is the failure mode that causes most real-world ISP outages.

Which MikroTik routers and RouterOS versions are supported?

Krishna WiFi works with RouterOS 6.x and 7.x over the API, in both plain and SSL modes, covering the vast majority of MikroTik hardware deployed by Indian ISPs — from small hEX units to CCR-class core routers. During onboarding, the 13-point validation automatically discovers the model and serial number, checks the RouterOS version and licence level, and warns you about insufficient RAM or disk before configuration, so unsupported or under-resourced devices are caught up front rather than in production.

How does multi-city tenant isolation work in practice?

Each city is a hard-isolated tenant: its routers, staff accounts and data exist only inside that tenant, enforced at the panel level rather than by convention. A city-admin manages only their own city; resellers and operators see only what their role within that city allows; only the super-admin sees across cities. This means you can bring partner operators into the panel confidently — there is no setting they could toggle to peek at another city's network.

What is on the roadmap — will this become a full ISP billing suite?

That is the direction. The current release nails remote configuration and multi-tenant management; the published roadmap adds FreeRADIUS AAA, a captive portal designer, WhatsApp OTP login for subscribers, payments and invoicing, a reseller wallet, a live monitoring dashboard and port forwarding management. Because updates ship via one-click GitHub deployment, existing installations pick up each new module as it lands. If a roadmap feature is critical for your network, tell us — it directly shapes build priority.
