What is Load Balancing?
Load balancing, in networking, means combining two or more internet connections so traffic spreads across them and the network survives any single line failing. A router with a Jio fibre line and an Airtel line can send different users or sessions down different links (balancing) and shift everything to the surviving link when one goes down (failover), usually within seconds.
Indian offices, gaming cafes and ISP resellers use MikroTik's PCC load balancing to merge, say, two 100 Mbps connections from different providers into a pool serving everyone โ cheaper and more resilient than one 200 Mbps line from a single provider whose outage would kill the whole office. The subtlety is that one download does not get 200 Mbps; rather, many users' sessions distribute across both links.
