What is Local Pack (Google 3-Pack)?
The local pack — often called the 3-pack — is the map box Google shows at the top of search results for local queries, containing a map and exactly three business listings with ratings, timings and directions buttons. It appears above the normal website results, so those three businesses capture the overwhelming majority of clicks and calls for that search.
Getting into the pack is the practical goal of local SEO for Indian businesses, because position four might as well be page two — users rarely tap "More places". Google selects the three based on proximity, profile completeness, review quality and activity. A Dwarka restaurant appearing in the pack for "restaurants in Dwarka" can see calls and direction requests multiply several times over versus ranking just below it.
