What is Schema Markup?
Schema markup is invisible structured code added to web pages that tells search engines exactly what the content means — this number is a price, this text is a review rating, these lines are FAQ questions, this block is a local business with these opening hours. Google reads it and can reward the page with rich results: star ratings, FAQ dropdowns and event details shown directly in search listings.
Rich results earn dramatically more clicks because they occupy more screen space and signal credibility — a recipe or product listing with visible stars outdraws a plain blue link above it. For Indian businesses, the highest-value types are LocalBusiness (address, hours, phone), Product with price, FAQPage, and Review markup. It is written as JSON-LD in the page head and validated free with Google's Rich Results Test.
